The Position
Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology our NHS client in the North East of England. The posts will provide ample opportunities to develop the Diabetes and Endocrinology Service and establish our service on the research map. This is on a permanent or 12-month fixed term basis.
Health Service
A highly dynamic award winning diabetes, endocrine and metabolic service with a team of dedicated professionals who provide the local area with a range of multi-disciplinary services such as paediatric transition, antenatal, thyroid cancer, tier 3 weight management services etc. Fully established endocrine unit with a dedicated day unit. The tier 3 services have been commended nationally by GIRFT and we are helping other units set up their service. The Trust has an award winning diabetes team which has won national awards for integrated community care dietary services. You will have full support of an established diabetes specialist nursing team. The Trust has the largest insulin pump services in the region and fully fledged lipid service is also provided.

Essential Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent MRCP (UK), or equivalent qualification
- Full GMC registration and ideally be on the Specialist Register
- Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be withing 6 months of attaining CCT in Specialty at time of interview
- Experience in Diabetes and Endocrinology and GIM
- Experience of supervising and training trainees
- Good clinical skills and to be able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems
