The Position
Consultant Geriatrician/Medicine of the Older Person for our NHS Trust in the North East of England. Our client is offering a permanent/12-month fixed term contract and are looking for a dynamic and friendly Consultant to join the team.
Health Service
The service is expanding key services and frailty pathways to benefit the frail and older patient, therefore require applicants that have suitable training and experience in Geriatric Medicine.
The basic whole-time contract is for 10 programmed activities; 8.5 DCC (1.5 PAs admin time and educational supervision time included within this) + additional 1.5 SPA. There will be a discussion with successful candidates regarding the final job plan/oncall arrangements, prior to the interview and appointment to ensure the job plan reflects both the individual’s and organisation goals.

Essential Criteria
- Fully registered with a GMC license to practice and be on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months of entry) on the date of interview
- MBchB or equivalent MRCP Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Geriatric Medicine, or withing 6 months of expected CCT at time of appointment
- Good clinical skills including management of acutely unwell medical patients and an up to date knowledge in Geriatric Medicine.
