The Position
Our client is an NHS Trust in North East England looking to recruit a Consultant Gastroenterologist to add to its existing team of 11 Gastroenterology and 2 Endoscopy Consultants.
Health Service
The basic contract is for 10 programmed activities (PAs), with elective outpatient work, endoscopy, and inpatient care. At the present, there will be a 1:5 Ward commitment to cover in patient activity on the gastroenterology ward during which time all elective commitments are cancelled. The job plan is indicative only and is negotiable to take the candidates aspirations/special interest/part time working into account. We are looking for individuals who would be interested to complement their existing strengths in providing a high-quality Gastroenterology Service together with education, research and training and also strengthen their commitment to provide a 7-day GI Service to their Acute Hospitals.

Essential Criteria
All candidates should
- Have full GMC registration and ideally specialist registration
- Have MBBS or equivalent MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be withing 6 months of attaining CCT in Specialty at time of interview
- Experience in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and GIM
- Must be proficient in Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy
- Clinical skills able to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems within specialty, management skills, excellent communication/interpersonal skills
