The Position
Our client is an NHS Trust in North East England looking to recruit a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join a team of 11 respiratory consultants and 1 SAS doctor across two acute sites.
Post holders will undertake acute work and outpatient clinics at their main base site and also cover clinics at one of their community hospitals. Clinics are general respiratory clinics and cancer clinics. There are also opportunities for specialist clinics for those wanting to develop a subspecialist interest. The ward and RSU are covered via a weekly specialty rota (in -hours only) and the post holder will take part in the medical on-call rota on the Acute Medical Unit alongside physician colleagues and acute care physicians. Applicants wishing to combine clinical work with a research or educational career will be supported with opportunities for academic roles available.

Essential Criteria
All candidates should
- Have full GMC registration and ideally specialist registration
- Have MBBS or equivalent MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Experience of lung cancer investigation and management experience of medical teaching
- Clinical skills able to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems within specialty, management skills, excellent communication/interpersonal skills
