The Position
This is a replacement post to work in the Clinical Imaging Department rated as Outstanding by the CQC
The successful applicant will join a team of 26 Consultants and around 15 Specialist Registrars in a friendly and cohesive department. There are currently 2 MSK radiologists working alongside a team of enthusiastic orthopaedic surgeons and rheumatologists. Whilst the existing MSK interventional service is good there is scope for expansion to suit individual skills.
As well as MSK radiology, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the general workload of the department and participate in the general on call and job planned weekend working rotas.
Main duties of the job:
Provision with Consultant Colleagues of Musculoskeletal Radiology services.
Provision of General Radiology services.
Out-of-hours responsibilities.
Support and ensure the efficient functioning of the Clinical Imaging department and service
Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff
Contribution to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity
Participation in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes and in CPD Managerial responsibilities where appropriate
To maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff
To ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard, and in accordance with current quality initiatives within the area of work
