The Position
8 month fixed term contract
As the deputy to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Deputy Chief Nurse (Quality, Safety and Improvement) will be accountable for leading, directing and supporting the organisations objectives of delivery of high quality patient care through the development and education of a professional nursing workforce. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the professionally registered and unregistered nursing workforce delivers the highest standards of healthcare across Acute services. The people leadership is discharged through the Care Delivery Services, Heads of Nursing and Clinical Lead Nurse Managers who are professionally accountable to the Deputy Chief Nurse (Quality, Safety and Improvement). In addition the post holder will have responsibility for quality, safety and improvement.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications-
Qualified Nurse (RMN or RNLD)
Educated to Master level in a healthcare related subject
Master level management qualification (i.e. MBA, DMS)
Evidence of CPD
Knowledge and Experience-
Senior experience at Associate or Deputy Director of Nursing level in a complex mental health setting
Proven track record of successful and sustained nursing management in a NHS Foundation Trust or similar organisation
In-depth knowledge and grasp of current NHS issues particularly relating to nurse education and practice development
Success track record of working near to board level
Record of significant achievements at a senior level
Successful delivery of organisational change
Knowledge and experience of using a range of innovative approaches to progress situations
