If you are a doctor entering the NHS from outside of the UK, you will be required to complete an English proficiency test to support your GMC application. The purpose of these exams is so that you can demonstrate your ability to understand and communicate English effectively. If you are at the beginning stages of your GMC application, view our guide here for more.
The only two test systems the GMC currently accepts are the:• International English Language Testing System (IELTS)• Occupational English Test (OET)
OET and IELTS have available test centers both in the UK and Overseas, and they each require you to book online.
