The Position
This post is suitable for candidates with previous Paediatric and neonatal experience in level 2 or 3 unit interested in gaining advancing their paediatric training and in gaining further Paediatric and Neonatal experience. Please also see table below. UK NHS experience is desirable. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of patients under the supervision of a consultant paediatrician and neonatologist.
Clinical responsibilities will include:
• Neonatal Unit/Children’s Ward- ward rounds, discharge planning, acute admissions and general paediatric and neonatal work.
• Responsibility for either neonatal unit, or Children’s Ward, alternating with the other middle grade doctors.
• Regular attendance and active participation in outpatient clinics.
• Participation in overall supervision and education of junior doctors and medical students.
• Taking an active part in the department’s education programme.
• Taking an active part in audit. An audit project is expected in this post. Assistance in conjunction with consultants and specialist registrars with the teaching of undergraduate medical students.
