The Position
Full Time (10 PA's) Consultant Gastroenterologist
Applications are invited for the above substantive posts to join a team of 22 Luminal Gastroenterologists and seven Hepatologists. The multi award-winning Gastroenterology and Hepatology Directorate has extensive facilities for outpatient, inpatient and endoscopic activity
The appointee will be responsible, with colleagues for provision of Gastroenterology services. The post comprises 10 PAs per week (1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs) / 8.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCCs) including 0.5PA on call activity). This includes 2 outpatient clinics per week to support sub-specialty service of patients with IBD and 3 endoscopy lists per week. A Consultant of the day model is in operation for acute specialist take and out of hours bleeds. There is also an ‘on’ and ‘off’ ward rota to deliver front door and base ward care Gastroenterology/Hepatology care.

Essential Criteria
MRCP or equivalent
GMC registration and license to practice
Ability to work as an independent practitioner in Gastroenterology.
Possess broad clinical experience in the general aspects of the post
Endoscopic experience for 5 years with appropriate JAG accreditation
Evidence of advanced training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease OR Evidence of advanced training in Nutrition OR Evidence of advanced training in Endoscopy

£82,096-£110,683 per annum
