Full time (10PA's) Consultant Gastroenterologist
We are looking for someone who has an interest in inflammatory bowel disease, however additional sub-specialty interests will be welcomed.
This is a full-time post arisen due to a colleague retirement and to respond to increasing local demand for endoscopy and outpatient activity. An interest in inflammatory bowel is a requirement for this post as we are replacing colleagues who represented this interest. Additional sub-speciality interests will also be welcomed. Appointing the right colleague who will enhance and work within the team is our primary aim.
The trust have recently received substantial investment from NHS England, which has enabled them to purchase state of the art endoscopic equipment for all our procedure rooms. They have secured investment to increase the size of our satellite endoscopy unit which will soon have 3 procedure rooms. The Trust is currently undergoing significant modernisation with a new £80million surgical centre/critical care build (due completion 2023) incorporating a new endoscopy suite. There has been a further £450million funding secured for site developments currently in discussion. The hospital has an excellent reputation regionally for teaching and training, provides a number of region wide services and has a truly patient centred care focus throughout the organisation supported by excellent managers and a dedicated clinically run Improvement Network. Their services are highly rated by patients, families and stakeholders and for a large DGH the hospital provides an incredibly friendly supportive and collegiate atmosphere to work in.
