The Position

This is a whole-time replacement post for maternity cover required to support the on-going delivery of our Vascular Services across the Vascular Surgery Network.

The Vascular Unit is supported by a team of ten Surgeons, an excellent seven Scientist Vascular Studies Unit, a large dedicated Vascular Ward, and a Hybrid Operating Theatre. You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Vascular Surgery or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Key Tasks

 Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of vascular surgery

 To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of the vascular surgical service including provision, with colleagues, of an on-call service across the Trust

 Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students, nursing staff and allied health professionals

 Vascular and General Surgical waiting list management to national targets

 To participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning audit and clinical governance

 To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME)

 Other duties relating to Vascular Surgery as appropriate

GMC registered

Ideally have a CCT in Vascular Surgery or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview

£82,096- £110,683 plus on call enhancements
