Our modern AMUs feature higher monitoring units as well as ultrasound facilities. In October 2018 we launched a pioneering Acute Medical Rapid Assessment (AMRA) service at Site A .TheAMRA service has its own dedicated Acute Physicians, junior doctors and nurses who facilitate early consultant input for patients referred by the Emergency Department. The service is supported by a dedicated ward, co-located to the SSU and AMU, and complements our existing ambulatory care service by enhancing our same day discharge pathways.
